Community Engagement

Sandy Loam engages our Sonoma County neighbors in community, environmental and agricultural stewardship. The land itself is our best teacher. Check below for details on our volunteer and engagement opportunities!

Get Involved!

We have many volunteer opportunities: volunteer on Farmer Bryce’s farm crew, bringing your horticultural and educational expertise to our youth programs, tending to our gardens and more.  Please fill out the form below and we will be in touch with opportunities at the farm!

Livelihoods Program

Sandy Loam’s Livelihoods programs aim to support community members in developing practical skills that can enhance both personal fulfillment and income opportunities.

Programs offerings include:

  • Hands-on workshops focused on artisanal farm products. Participants gain knowledge in traditional and sustainable crafts while exploring potential small-scale entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Specialized educational and training opportunities for individuals with disabilities and neurodivergence in the fields of agriculture and environmental management.
  • Internship opportunities for college students tailored to encourage creativity, ecological awareness and a fearless commitment to community wellbeing.

Environmental Management Workshops

Environmental Management Workshops give community members practical, hands-on experience with land stewardship practices that deepen ecological understanding. These offerings empower participants to take an active role in caring for local ecosystems while learning methods they can apply at home, in community gardens or on working lands.
